Mineral Law of South Africa: Text, cases and commentary aims to provide property and mineral law students, law teachers and practitioners with extracts of the important cases that have been delivered by the courts since the enactment on 1 May 2004 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act 28 of 2002 MPRDA. A few cases from the previous mineral law dispensation have also been added. Each chapter provides a brief introduction of law followed by a summary of the facts of the relevant case, extracts of the decision and commentary extracted from either case reviews and articles in law journals. This gives the reader case examples of the principles and an extensive discussion or review of each decision. The casebook also includes the MPRDA and Mining Titles Registration Act 16 of 1967. The casebook can be used in conjunction with Badenhorst and Mostert Mineral and Petroleum Law of South Africa or other works.
